Making research feel human
Jiviniti is the research and creative communications program of The Virsa Foundation, a nonprofit in Greater Boston founded by Nivi Jaswal-Wirtjes, connecting personal, public and planetary health through research, storytelling and practical tools. I designed and built its first website as a freelance project, working directly with Nivi and her team.

The goal
Jiviniti needed its first website: a place to present its research to more people and to bring in more donations. Its visual language relied on a collage approach that had become very complex, and the site had to make the work clear without losing its warmth.
Approach
I refined the visual design and simplified the UX/UI. The idea was to make it feel human and grounded in real experiences, so paper textures and photography of people carry the site, and I turned the collage into something simpler, more elevated and interactive. I designed the site and its assets in Figma, then built it in Framer.
Outcome
The site helped Jiviniti take its research to more people and brought in more donations. Jiviniti’s current website is a later redesign that isn’t my work, so this version is no longer live.
